Privacy Policy for applicants and application procedures


 

MACS Maritime Carrier Shipping GmbH & Co. (MACS) is committed to protecting the privacy of its applicants, to this end MACS may collect and process personal data of applicants solely for the purpose of application procedures. The processing may be carried out electronically, as will be the case should an applicant submit the application electronically via email including attachments. Please be aware that such applications submitted as non-encrypted email and attachments might not be protected en-route.

MACS solely collects applicant’s information which is voluntarily submitted. The Human Resources Department and the Training Department (Ausbildung) receive all such applications, however for the purpose of the selection process, applications may be forwarded to the heads of the relevant departments.

MACS may store and process personal data of an applicant for the required duration necessary to achieve the purpose of the application procedure. Should an employment contract not be concluded with the applicant, all application documents will be erased in accordance with the applicable legal requirements, which will not exceed 6 months post the completion of the application process.

Access to your personal information
You have the right to view, amend, or delete any personal information that MACS may have collected about you.

Rectification of personal information
Should any of the information collected about you by MACS be inaccurate or incomplete, you may request that MACS correct or complete such information at any time.

Right of erasure
You may request at any time the erasure of your personal data held by MACS without undue delay.

Right of restriction of processing
You may request the restriction of processing of your personal data by MACS at any time.

Right of data portability
You may request to receive your personal data which was provided by MACS in a structured, and where possible, commonly used machine-readable format.

Right to object the processing
You have the right to object to processing of your personal data by MACS at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation.

Legal basis for the processing
Please note that all documents and/or emails and attachments relating to job applications, internships or apprenticeships sent to MACS will be stored in accordance to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 2 lit. b) General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR / in German: DSGVO) for the duration of the application process and for all subsequent correspondence with you in accordance to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 2 lit. f) GDPR.

Should you notice any inconsistencies with processing of your personal data, which you are not able to solve directly with MACS, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the applicable supervisory authority any time.

MACS confirms that it does not make use of automated decision-making or profiling.

Changes to this Privacy Policy
MACS reserves the right to update this policy from time to time. This policy is effective from 25th May 2018.
